In March 2015, Facebook bought and shut down TheFind, a shopping search engine to enhance Facebook’s advertising platform by including TheFind’s technology, improving ad targeting and personalized shopping experiences for users on the social media platform.
In March 2016, Facebook acquired MSQRD, a video filter app known for its animated face filters. By this MSQRD’s technology was merged into Facebook’s platform, enhancing its video and photo capabilities to offer more engaging and interactive content for users.
In July 2017, Facebook bought Ozlo, an AI startup specializing in understanding text-based conversations. This aimed to enhance Facebook’s artificial intelligence capabilities, improving its virtual assistants and chatbots to offer more accurate and context-aware interactions for users.
In October 2017, Facebook acquired tbh, a social media app focused on positive feedback and anonymous polling because they wanted to attract a younger audience and integrate tbh’s encouraging and engaging features to enhance Facebook’s overall user experience and appeal.
